Our day in our words..... - Today we practiced for our Peace Assembly. EY - This afternoon we finished our Edward Tulane with garbage. KS - For our assembly we practiced our recorders and the sunflower song. SR - Today in gym we did lots of different activities like push-ups and planks. JP - At daily 5 teachers were pulling groups of students to work on peace assembly stuff. AG - Today in music we practiced Peace Assembly stuff. RG Reminders
- Our Peace Assembly is tomorrow. It starts at 11:00am. All parents are welcome. - Practice your recorder. - Practise choir songs - Practice Peace Assembly song - Practice your lines if you are in choir.

In groups of 5 we created stop motion videos of plants - AT The stop motion took us the whole afternoon - PC Each group got different storyboards - AK & RM This morning before gym we talked about different jobs for our Peace Assembly - MS In gym we played a game where we had to pass 5 times as a team before we could shoot a point at the pole. It was called Polish Handball - AG & FC Today we did word work in Daily 5 and we had to sort the words into categories. The categories were different digraphs - sh, th, wh, ch - AG, CA, EY, Reminders: - We need newspaper for an art activity we are doing tomorrow - We have music tomorrow so bring your recorders - Make sure to practice your recorder for our peace assembly. The notes were attached in last weeks blog - Our peace assembly is this Friday Dec. 1 @ 11:00 am - The sunflower song for our peace assembly is on the music blog so you can be practicing it. - Today we did the Beakerhead cardboard box challenge: We had to make an invention out of cardboard and tape. The title of the challenge was "There Must Be a Better Way". We only had 2 hours to make our inventions! KS/AK/AT - We did GoNoodle for our movement break - the Henry Danger game LL/SC - We could only do one round of Daily 5 because we had the Beakerhead activity AG - We got a new student! Yay! WA - We had snack. Yum! AG Reminders - December 1st is our Peace Assembly - Practice your recorder song for the assembly!! - Movie Night is tonight! We're watching Disney's Aladdin. There are still tickets available. - Have a good weekend! Reminders...... - If you have any cardboard at home that you can spare please send it with your child tomorrow. We can use as much as you can spare for our Beayerhead challenge. -Friday is early dismissal at 12:05. - Reminder to students to please practice your recorder for our Peace Assembly Next week. Our day......
Once again another very busty day in Gr. 3/4 at Eric Harvie. The students started off with music and practicing their songs for our Peace Assembly next week. We then did a round of daily 5. Mr. Kai led the group in an art project using garbage to create the character Edward Tulane. After lunch with spent the afternoon dissecting plants and then labelling their parts. My group sketched the wolves WA My group saw some lemurs - GS In my group we went to the grey wolf and the grey wolf was carrying this big fish and it was hiding it from the birds because the birds wanted to eat it. SR My group saw some owls and an owl stared right at me in the eye. GV My group saw cougars. TF When my group saw the owls a big owl flew right over us. MK In the African Savannah with the hippos - it was feeding time and they were feeding them lettuce and watermelon. SC At the program we also got to do an experiment with seeds and measured how far the seeds flew in the wind with a fan. AT One station was looking at plants and one of the plants was as soft as a pillow. EY At one of the stations there were dishes with compost materials that you got to look at under a microscope. FC Reminders: - book orders are due on Friday - our peace assembly is Dec. 1 - please bring in cardboard for the Beakerhead Challenge on Friday We really enjoyed the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra today - ask your child about their favorite part
This afternoon we wrote a reflection and we talked about our zoo trip tomorrow Zoo Information for tomorrow - Dress for the weather and for walking - portions of the day will be inside and outside (comfortable walking shoes, layers, hats, mitts, jackets) - Bring a backpack with a water bottle, lunch and snack (bring enough to eat for a long day) - Be on time for school the buses leave quickly - No money or electronics please ( we are not buying any food or souvenirs) - Volunteers please go to the Harvie Room when the bell rings at 8:25 Other Reminders: - Book orders due Friday - We will be missing the Calgary Public Library Book truck tomorrow Reminders..... - The CPO field trip is tomorrow. It is a half day field trip. Please dress appropriately. _ The Zoo field trip is on Wednesday. It is a full day. Please pack lots of food and dress appropriately, Our day..........
- Today we had three rounds of daily 5. - In math we started numbers. - In Science we talked about the needs of plants and played a fun game of Plant Jeopardy. Today was busy, we didn't have time to blog as a class! We had music and phys. ed. this morning and then we did 3 rounds of Daily 5. In the afternoon we worked on decreasing pattern problems and finished up our plant life cycle drawings. Then we had a catch-up time so we could finish various projects. We also started talking about our upcoming peace assembly. It will be on Dec. 1 and we hope you will be able to attend to see your children perform. Reminders: - Calgary Philharmonic and Zoo forms are overdue. Please bring them in on Monday if you haven't already - Book orders were sent home today. This will be the last book order before Christmas. They are due back next Friday, Nov. 24 - No school tomorrow - PD Day.
