Reminders.... - No school Friday. School starts up again January 9th. - Students were asked to bring their indoors shoes home to have them cleaned and aired out. Our day.....
- This morning students had PE and Music. - We finished the Edward Tulane novel during snack. - Students were asked to write a reflection on Edward Tulane. - We watched the movie Elf after lunch. - All students were called to the gym for some caroling! Mr. Neily and Ms. McLean wish all of our AMAZING, FANTASTIC and WONDERFUL students a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We look forward to seeing you all in the new year. A big thanks for all the wonderful cards and gifts. We are two very lucky teachers to have such a caring group of students and families:)

Today we made rabbits out of clay. It took us the whole afternoon. - LS
But it was awesome! SPR Today in gym we played net ball but only 5 people were on the court at one time. KD In the morning Ms. McLean's class didn't get much gym and Mr. Neily's class didn't get much exploration because we had caroling at 9:30 - RG Reminders: - Tomorrow is the last day of school before Christmas break. It is a full day - Dress for the snowy weather - Tomorrow is pajama day - The first day back after the break is January 9. - Indoor shoes will be coming home tomorrow to be washed over the break. Today in the afternoon we created plant habitats and we had to explain stuff like how it adapts to its environments - RT
We did more caroling - TF We also did a "Just Dance - Crazy Santa" - LS We did 3 rounds of Daily 5 - GS In gym we played a game where there were teams and some wore pinnys, It was called netball. - SR Today in music all of us got to play our songs on the recorder that we have been practicing - KD Ms. McLean's class learned how to play Jingle Bells and Mr. Neily's will learn on Thursday - MS Reminders: - Friday there is no school and Thursday is still a full day - Tomorrow is Ugly Sweater/ Festive Sweater/ Wear Red/Green Day - Thursday is Pajama Day On Wednesday, we will be doing a project with clay. Feel free to bring a paint shirt or apron so you protect your festive shirt! - Today we did Edward Tulane Art - first we read 2 chapters and in the art we drew Edward as a marionette puppet - then we sketched him into foam and rolled black paint on it to make a stamp. Its called printmaking - AT
- We have a new students today who came from Vancouver - RT - In the morning we had caroling in the gym and we sang lots of songs like "Rockin around the Christmas Tree" - SR - A few kids went to sports club and at the start we were dribbling balls against the wall and then we played a game - SC - Most of us finished our letters to Japan - KD - In gym we dribbled basketballs and we practiced shooting with only one hand - GV Reminders: - No School on Friday . - All the grade 4's went to TMC and they went to do the Beakerhead challenge again - FC - There were only 11 grade 3's so we met up with Danchuk and Scott grade 3's and we played some math games - RG - The grade 3's finished their letters to Japan - MO - We also went outside for recess and had snack with Ms. Danchuk and Ms. Scott's classes SC Reminders: - Have a great weekend!! - We had gym and music this morning. So that was fun. - Then we had our Daily 5 and we continued working on our letters to Japan. - Choir had their matinee performance and it was awesome! - We discussed what makes our country unique and wrote it down in a document. We're going to include this document in our package to Japan. Reminders: - The Grade 4 students are walking to TMC tomorrow. Make sure you are dressed for the weather - Choir students need to be back at the school for 6:00pm tonight - If you want to include photos with your letter to Japan, please bring them by Monday. -We had Gym and Exploration in the morning. We played some basketball games! -After, we had a round of Daily 5 where we wrote in our journals or read. -We continued working on the rough drafts of our letters to Japan. Many of us have begun our good copies too. We'll be sending them out soon! -After lunch, all the choir members went to the gym for the tech rehearsal of our upcoming concert, Snow Biz! -Those of us who are not part of choir joined Ms. Huebner and Ms. Cambell's class for some fun activities. Reminders -Tomorrow is the Choir Concert! -We will still be accepting Families Helping Families contributions until the end of the day tomorrow -On Friday, the Gr. 4s will be heading to TMC for the Beakerhead Challenge. In the morning the choir students went and performed at TMC. We also got to listen to the Tuscany School choir, the TMC band and the Bowness High School jazz ensemble band. The students who were not in choir spent time with Mrs. Danchuk and Mrs. Low doing Daily 5 and math games. This afternoon we began our rough copies of our letters to Japan. Choir students are to line up outside the front of the school.. They will not be coming into the school. We will collect backpacks as students will not be taking the to TMC. Backpacks will be returned when we get back from TMC. Our day in our words.....
- Today we made reindeer door decoration art. They were reindeer we created ourselves. We also named them. CA - Today we had instructions for the choir trip to TMC. (see above) GV - Today in Math we made numbers out of the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, After we has to put them in order from least to greatest. KD - We will be writing letters to students in Japan. An e-mail will sent to all parents tonight with details. Our day in our words..... - Today we did Math and we were asked to build a structure using tens, one's, and hundreds blocks. Then we took them apart and separated them into groups. We then had to count how many of each. RG - Today in gym we had to work with a partner. With our partner we worked on passing and dribbling. GV - We did a writing reflection on our Peace Assembly and last week. RL - After snack we went to the book fair in the Library and we made wish lists on what we wanted. SR - Reminders.....
- PT conferences are on Thursday and Friday. - Families helping families is still going on. - We only have a half day Thursday and there is no school Friday. |
