Our Day in Our Words...Today we talked about my dad coming to the school. We were asking questions about what we thought his job was. It was hard to keep a secret. MS During exploration today, we had to finish our Wonder mind maps. Then we would get it checked off with a teacher and then you would choose what you wanted to do for exploration. I chose drawing. I drew a pig ice cream. BA Today in gym, we played speed ball. We had to played soccer and had to pick up the ball when he yelled "pick it up" then once it dropped, it went back to soccer. NR Yesterday we did an egg hunt. We got to make our own eggs. They weren't real eggs. They were just foam eggs that we got to colour. Then we went down to the hub and the project center and got to hide them. After we hid them, we had a chart to fill out. On the back of all of our eggs, was a multiplication question that we had to figure out. AH Today after gym, we did exploration and some of us had to do finish up. I got to do exploration. I drew a dog, cat, and a hamster. RLM Today in exploration, I drew an Audi R8 and a Bugatti Chiron and I gave my Audi R8 to BM. RM For finish up, I had to work on coloring my Wonder story map. WS

Reminders...--> Please sign up for a conference time --> Thursday is a half day! Our Day in Our Words...Today during math, we had 3 subtraction questions and we had one bonus. The bonus looked like it was really hard because it was in the millions, but if you concentrate really hard, it is actually kind of simple to do it if you think really hard. PBK
Today during inquiry, we did a flow chart about natural waste and man-made waste. We got to choose which one we did. I did a bird which was natural waste. CH During gym, Mr.Der was back to teach and we got a new student teacher. We played full body Rock, Paper, Scissors Conga Line. I did not win very much. KC The math question was in the ten thousands. AC In Daily 5, we had to make two sentences about Me or I. AAA During exploration, we had to finish up our T-Chart from yesterday. We had to have 8 natural waste ideas and 8 man-made waste ideas minimum to do exploration. There were lots of things to do in exploration but we had to stay in the classroom. We don't go to the project center too often now. KSB I inquiry, we watched the last bit of Bill Nye the Science Guy and there was a little question that Ms.Dunmire asked us: Who wrote the song Respect? I knew who it was. Can you estimate? :) Our Day in Our Words...Today for gym, we played dodgeball and it was class versus class. Ms.Scott's class won. EL In math today, we did subtraction estimation which was very difficult but we had to try no matter how hard and it didn't matter if we got it right. If we tried and it still didn't make any sense, then we got to have help from our teachers. NK Today during lunch, I was playing with one of my friends until I started to play with another. We eventually just ended up chatting. PBK Today in music we finished the Jungle Book movie. HS Today in Daily 5, we did our spelling check-in and it felt like it has been forever so I kind of forgot some of it. Reminders...- Our Peace Assembly is tomorrow, Friday, March 16th at 11:00 AM - Book Orders are due tomorrow! (Online or handed in) - Yellow Snack day tomorrow! Our Day in Our Words...At the end of the day we did another assembly rehearsal and tomorrow it's at 11:00 AM. LW Today in math we did some subtraction and for recess it was really fun because we got to do exploration for recess. We had two choices. We could stay in the room or go to the project center. KSB In exploration, in the hub, me and RM used the DASH and I added the shovel from a bulldozer, a headset, and something that held a ball. WS In gym today we were doing circuits. It was very fun. SCC Today after gym, we got to do exploration and we got it twice today. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. For the afternoon, I built a rose out of paper. RLM Reminders...Book Orders are due on FRIDAY, March 16th Colours of the Rainbow snack. Tomorrow: ORANGE Our Day in Our Words...Today we had a practice assembly in our room. In the assembly, we have a slideshow, movie, and singing. DL
For math, we did a little check in and it included the questions using the Box, Lattice, Standard, and circle method. AR Today was red snack day. Most people had strawberries. Tomorrow is orange snack day. NK Today for music, we practiced our song for the assembly as well as we practiced the Jungle Book. KC Reminders...Book orders are due Friday, March 16th Colour of the Rainbow snacks start tomorrow! (RED) For gym, we played Zone Tag and it's a game where there were two teams and one team had to try and run to the other side and the other team had to try and block them. When they were at the other side, they would walk back outside the black lines to that they wouldn't get hurt. The offense team wore pinnies and the other team wore their normal clothes. AR
Today during math, we watched a video about how to do box math. On the video it showed 26 x 7. The way that she did it, made it easier to understand once she broke it up. It was actually kind of simple. PBK Today at the end of the day, we practiced out assembly. I read my poem. CH Today at exploration, me and a few boys played clash of clans. In order to join the game, you had to make a castle. Then you can make a kingdom and villages. Then you also make archer towers and x-bows. You also have fights between two clans. KSB Reminders...--> Book orders go home today! They are due on Friday, March 16th and they will be our last ones before spring break. --> Tomorrow, Tuesday March 13th will be the first full cast run-through of the Jungle Book. Your student is involved in this only if they have been cast in a role and has brought home a company contract. Rehearsal will run from 3:00-4:00. Your student will be dismissed at 4:00 p.m. Through the front doors of the school. They must let a teacher know that they see their parent or caregiver before running off so that we can ensure everyone has gone home to the correct place. At Eric Harvie School we are going to eat the rainbow during March. Children are challenged to bring snack each day that corresponds with the colors of the rainbow. Wednesday March 14 red Thursday March 15 orange Friday March 16 yellow Monday March 19 green Tuesday March 20 blue Wednesday March 21 indigo/violet Good food has it's own package. Whether it an apple, a banana, a potato or spinach.....good food comes in its' own package. If there's a box or wrapper or plastic container, it is made primarily of chemicals and artificial fillers. Fuel up with real food. Food that grows in the sunshine and rain. And after being picked arrives at your grocery store, in its' own skin. Our Day in Our Words...Today in music we were practicing our song singing for our assembly. Also, we watched another clip from the movie the Jungle Book. ID Today in math, Ms.Dunmire's math group taught Ms.Scott's group the math that they were doing and when we mastered that, we then showed them what Ms.Scott's group was doing. LW Today in exploration, in Ms.Scott's class, we hung our name tags up. We put our hands on our hook that we wanted and if there was two hands on a hook we played rock paper scissors to decide who got the hook. CG On Wednesday and the week after, it is our Rainbow week which means that everyday we need to bring a healthy snack that goes with the colours of the rainbow. NK Today during Inquiry, we are starting to make some of our video. We were arranging where everyone was sitting and some people got individual parts about how they feel about the world right now. PK Today during inquiry when we were working on the video for class, I was at the bottom and my legs were dying. When I stood up, my legs felt like noodles. We learned how to do whip kick and it was hard. When we went to the tank we only had time to do one kneeling dive and mine worked!!!! -CM Today when we got back from swimming,me,CM,AR,RLM,MS,VO,BA,AM,SCC and KM performed our dance that we are going to do for our assembly and right when we were about to start Ms.Dunmire was searching our song that was ''The world is ours'' by Aloe blacc and while she was searching it, in one of the links it said ''The world is ours Chicken Bumps and I could not stop laughing .It felt like my head was about to EXPLODE like a Volcano. -EL Today during math we wrote our multiplication math check in's and I was one of the first ones done and I felt really happy because i'm not normally the first one out ;] -AR The math sheets were small and quick.-CH Today in inquiry we had to work on our jobs for the assembly and at lunch recess me and a friend found colored ice pieces and gave them out for free to kids at our school.-KSB During swimming we had to do diving through hoops. It was difficult but AWESOME!!Tomorrow is the last day of swimming and we get to go on the big diving boards. Don't miss it.-NK Talk & Extend...What was your largest challenge you faced today? VO Before swimming the bus that we were supposed to take broke down so we had to take a tiny bus. Some people had to be driven by Mrs.Campbell. Then when we finally got there, we got to swim!
