Our Day in our Words...Today we were really busy working on putting together our learning adventures for the student led learning walks. We hope you enjoy looking at and interacting with all the beautiful things that we have created by looking at light and shadow with our lives. Reminders...COSTUMES!!!
The Jungle Book performance is quickly approaching. Students will be having an opportunity to add some flair to their jungle outfit. We ask that all students at Eric Harvie School do their very best to bring in a solid green, brown or tan shirt. Shirts that have a decal or writing, will be turned inside out to be solid coloured. We will be pinning and/or tacking items to these shirts (so don't bring your favorite shirt). Please label your name and teacher on your shirts inside with masking tape. Shirts will stay at school until all performances are complete on May 17. Please bring your shirt to school by May 2. Thank you

HS Today we did our shadow timeline and we picked all the things that are important in Canada and we had to write about them and tell about them. AH Today we finished our puppets and my group is practicing their presentation. MS Today we had a practice fire drill Ms. Kinsman said it was the best that we have done all year. For inquiry we are doing a timeline for an important thing that happened in Canada and I am looking at Quebec's culture. NK I am working on when Canada's flag was made. KSB Today in daily 5 Ms. Scott and Dunmire gave us a little booklet on how to make a comic book and some of us wanted one and some of us didn't. BA Today after lunch we worked on our puppets and we got a lot done and now we are on one of the last steps on organizing our story events. MS Today in gym we played a game there was 2 teams, one team had to catch the ball and the other team had to bat the ball. We were sketching shadows, We were taking pictures of face to show different shadows on our faces. When we were done taking the pictures we took pictures of different nature shadows. We were also in groups of 3. XZ CH Today we had Ms. Kinsman read with us BM We had two guests at the Coulee walk, Elija and Eva and Elija was telling us how to take pictures of our faces. AH Today we were going to start a new project called the "Canadian Shadow Timeline" we are going to pick an event and event that happened in Canada give details about it and say why it is important. HS When we came back from the morning we had lunch and we had 2 rounds of daily 5 in the afternoon instead of in the morning and Ms. Scott and Ms. Dunmire picked people to read with. I read with Ms. Scott and I read a book called "Amazing Animal Adaptations". AM During daily 5 I also read the same book "Amazing Animal Adaptations". In gym we didn't do the gymnastics anymore, we did the circuits. There were different stations set up and after gym we got to put our shadows and height on a chart. RLM For lunch we went outside and did "floss wars". The person who did it the fastest won. It was me and someone else. Next recess we will play again and I'm going to win! HTR In inquiry, me and my partner (the whole class) worked on how the sun effects our shadows. It depends on how high and low the sun is. I had a tactic where there is a bridge with holes and when the person who is it jumps on the bridge I jump out of the hole and land on the ground. MS For inquiry we went outside and we were measuring how tall our shadows were and comparing which one was taller and DL and myself were in a bad spot because there was a sand devil. LW Today in gym we had a course different then yesterday. You would start at the start and you would jump on a bench and then you would jump off and while you were jumping off you had to dodge a ball. After that you had to walk onto the dots, walk onto the platform, jump on and off the mats then walk on the platform. CG Today we got told our partners for the puppet shows I got picked with my two friends! CH Today in math we got to finish up our checks in thats we were working on yesterday. Before he became a kids’ author, he worked in theatre, radio, and television. Now his passion is inspiring the next generation of lifelong readers and writers. Using a combination of storytelling, improv, humour, and stage magic, he shares his love of words with audiences young and old. Attached is an order form for Marty’s books that will be available for purchase. The school will take book orders up until Friday, April 27th. Marty will personally autograph each book. Delivery of purchased books will be in mid- May. When purchasing books please complete order form and include it with payment (exact amount of cash or cheques made out to Eric Harvie School Enhancement Society) in an envelope with child’s name and homeroom teacher written on the outside of the envelope. Orders due by Friday, April 27th, 2018 --> Please bring a flashlight with your name on it. Our Day in our WordsDuring inquiry, we were measuring our height and tomorrow we will be measuring our shadow height and seeing which one is taller. LW Today in gym, we had an obstacle course that we had to do. First you had to do a shoulder roll, pencil roll, and then a log roll. Then you would jump on a bench and jump off onto another mat. Then there was balance beams that were easy and hard. After we were done, we needed to step onto the dots. When we came off of the dots, there were big boxes that we had to jump off of. Then there were ladders that we had to climb onto. There were also pylons with hockey sticks on them. We had to go over the small one and under the big one. CG Today in Daily 5, we are now changing the computers. Before you use a computer, you have to plan it, first draft, editing, second draft, then final and good copy. Our Day in Our Words...Today in gym we got to do a obstacle course it was hard but fun.After that we had finsh up I got to do it.KSB Today in math, we got to choose which room to go to because in Ms.Scott's classroom was harder with long division. In Ms.Dunmire's classroom it was a bit easier and today also we had finish ups for both classes. Ms.Dunmire's class had music in the morning and Ms.Scott's class had finish up and exploration in the morning. Then, later on, Ms.Scott's class had music and Ms.Dunmire's class had finish up.
