Wow! This is our second last Monday of the school year! How did we get to this day so quickly?
Morgan shared with us how she saved a baby dear this weekend. She brought a photo to show us the sweet baby! Thanks for looking out for the creatures in our community Morgan! This morning we learned the recipe for a Satisfying or Extended ending for story writing. We want our stories, that we have worked so hard on, to come to an ending that makes sense and leaves us feeling like we truly enjoyed the tale. It is like putting a bow on a nicely wrapped present! The four ingredients include: SATISFYING ENDING Memory, Feeling, Wish/Hope, Decisions We learned some actions to help us remember these key ingredients. Please show these to your parents and explain what they each mean. We will be writing our own satisfying endings for our coucoulee stories! Ewa joined us today to discuss the firing of our clay stay beads! We learned a bit about how our clay will be fired and hope our beads turn out well. We will check on them tomorrow! This afternoon we started with a mindful practice to get us in the learning zone for the afternoon. This was followed by Daily 5. Mrs. Bates/Mrs. Zwack's class went to music while Mr. Kelly's class continued to do Daily 5. In math we made fraction kits which we will use for the rest of the week. We finished the day with some time to work on our simple machine challenge blueprints. Important Information Mrs. Bates/Mrs. Zwack's class will be going to Reader Rock Garden tomorrow. Please dress for the weather and pack a hearty lunch. The Grade 4's from Mr. Kelly's class will walk down to TMC tomorrow afternoon for Coulee Fest. This is another opportunity for a visit to TMC before next year! Be prepared for a short walk in the afternoon. Grade 3's will stay back and join the other grade 3 classes for the afternoon. Mr. Kelly's class -- please return your field trip forms and new date document initialed.
